Nebras for Development (NAD) conducted an introductory and coordination session for the Specialized Development Programs in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and Solar Energy at Seiyun Community College, as part of the preparations to implement the program activities during the year 2026. This comes in integration with the activities of the Solar Energy Specialization Development Program.

The session was attended by:

  • Dr. Fahmi Farrarah – Dean of Seiyun Community College

  • Dr. Nazih Bin Abdoun – Communication Specialist for the Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Program and Head of the Engineering Department

  • Eng. Hassan Al-Sukkar – Executive Director of Nebras for Development

  • Eng. Salem Baadeel – Program Officer for the Solar Energy and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Specialization Development Programs

  • Mr. Rashid Bin Ubaidullah – Coordinator of the Solar Energy and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Specialization Development Programs

  • Mr. Abdulkarim Bamdahaj – Vice Dean for Academic Affairs

  • In addition to a number of doctors and specialized engineers from both departments

The session aimed to introduce the programs, review their activities in the areas of qualifying academic staff and developing the educational environment, as well as discuss implementation, follow-up, and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, ensuring adherence to the approved timelines.

Nebras for Development (NAD) emphasized that this session represents a fundamental step toward a successful launch of the Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Specialization Development Program, and that the success of both programs depends on the integration of efforts, commitment to timelines, and working in a spirit of partnership and shared responsibility among all stakeholders.

In a renewed affirmation of the pivotal role of technical education in achieving sustainable development, Nebras Association for Development has signed three new development agreements with Al-Awn Foundation for Development. This comes in the wake of the remarkable success of the Solar Energy Specialization Development Project at Seiyun Community College in 2025.

The agreements, scheduled for implementation during 2026, aim to strengthen the position of technical education as a strategic pathway for development and to directly link its outputs with labor market needs, thereby preparing qualified cadres capable of meeting the requirements of productive sectors.

The signed agreements include:

  • The Educational Staff Capacity-Building Project.

  • The Project to Develop the Educational Environment for the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Specialization at Seiyun Community College.

  • The Technical Education Partners Project in Hadramout.

The agreements were signed by the Secretary-General of Nebras Association for Development, Mr. Ashraf Issa Al-Hadhari, in the presence of Engineer Hassan Al-Sukkar, Executive Director of the Association, and Engineer Salem Baaadeel, Program Officer for the Development of the Solar Energy, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Specializations at Seiyun Community College, along with the project team.

These projects represent an extension of a successful development experience that focused on advancing technical specializations with growing demand. In its new phase, the initiative seeks to enhance the efficiency of educational staff, improve practical learning environments, and strengthen partnerships with the private sector, ensuring high-quality training aligned with labor market requirements.
