Selah Foundation for Development launched the training program for the governance of civil society organizations in Wadi Hadramout, which is implemented by Nebras Association for Development in partnership with the Office of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in the Valley and the Desert, under the generous sponsorship of the local authority in Wadi Hadramout.

At the inauguration of the program, the Assistant Undersecretary of Hadhramaut Governorate for the Valley and Desert Directorates Affairs, Eng. Hisham Al-Saidi, praised the importance of this program to provide the participants with the concepts of governance, which is a societal requirement with which integrity, transparency and quality standards are achieved, praising the interventions of civil society organizations to support the local authority to contribute to the activation of oversight bodies.

For his part, the Director General of Social Affairs and Labor in the Valley and the Desert, Dr. Abdullah Bagham, stressed the importance of the program in strengthening institutional work in the work of civil society organizations, applying quality standards and creating competition between participating organizations in how to apply the knowledge received to advance the conditions of civil society organizations during the coming period.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Development Sector at Selah Foundation, Khalid bin Shihab, indicated that this program targets a number of civil society organizations, including forty organizations in Hadhramout, the coast and the valley, as they are the Foundation’s work partners for the pioneers of field and professional work according to the labor market, reviewing the activities of the “My profession is in my hands” program during The past years, which benefited 3158 beneficiaries in 12 governorates of the Republic.

The program targets 20 participants, representing a number of civil society organizations in Wadi Hadramout.

On Saturday 20 of August 2022, and in partnership with Attafawq Institute, Nebras for Development concluded the program to enhance the self – capacity of university students which targeted 70 participation of university students and graduates.

It is noteworthy that the program was implemented for the period from 17 to 20 August, during which the participants received a number of activities and knowledge represented in the establishment of training workshops, discussion seminars and voluntary initiatives represented in writing a CV, using the Internet, and the needs of training trends accompanying university students and graduates.

At the end of the program, the outstanding students were honored within the educational grants project of the association, who achieved excellence in scientific disciplines for the year 2020-2021 with scientific excellence shields.

The Director General of Security and Police in the Hadhramaut Valley and Desert Governorate, Brigadier General Abdullah Salmin bin Hobeish, attended the receipt of a lab and tools that help detect crime for the Forensic Evidence Department, provided by the Nebras Association for Development, under the supervision of the Martyr Bin Habrish Foundation for Development and funded by Resonate Yemen Foundation.

During the handover, Brigadier General Bin Hobeish confirmed that the Security Department in the Valley and the Desert will launch the work of the mini-criminal lab in the Forensic Evidence Department to examine all kinds of drugs in the coming days by supporting civil society organizations in training and rehabilitating security staff and providing solutions for drug testing, noting the interventions of the Nebras Association for Development in Implemented many of the activities and programs that it implemented within the program to enhance security at the local level, Seiyun District.

Brigadier bin Hobeish praised the Nebras Association for Development for their efforts in implementing qualitative courses at the crime scene and providing them with equipment and solutions to establish a mini-criminal laboratory that contributes to raising the performance of criminal work in the Valley and Desert districts for the rapid response to the reports submitted and the speed of deciding on samples.
